What to do with so much green hydrogen, so soon?

The Province of Quebec, with so much green hydro-electricity, has been inviting foreign developpers and technology companies, for several years, to come and build water electrolysis plants to launch our green hydrogen hub. We seem to have gone too far, too fast however in accepting these projects, and we are now contemplating building more power dams and wind turbines. The new question is: Who will buy all this hydrogen, and how will it be delivered, when we reach the maximum concentration that our natural gas pipelines can carry and our large industries can’t take more? There is therefore going to be an opportunity to make more chemical production plants, such as methanol, ammonia and urea. Instead of water pyrolysis, there are still possibilities to do pyrolysis of methane or of biomass, which use less electricity than water electrolysis does.

Interesting to compare Canada’s Clean Fuels Fund project requirements with the US’s IRA.
